General

Great Earth Scandinavia AB (“Great Earth”, “we”) complies with the applicable regulations regarding the processing of personal data at all times and works continuously to protect your privacy in the best possible way. This “Privacy Policy” helps you understand how we use the personal data you provide to us when, for example, you create an account or purchase products from www.greatearth.se (“the Website”).

Who is the data controller?

Great Earth Scandinavia AB, Company Reg. No. 556372-9010, Ersbogatan 10, 802 93 Gävle, Tel: 026-611980, is the data controller for the processing of the personal data you provide to us.

If you have any questions about Great Earth's processing of your personal data, the easiest way to contact us is at konsumentkontakt@greatearth.se.

For what purposes does Great Earth process your personal data?

We primarily process your personal data to fulfil our commitments to you, such as administering your user account, managing your product order, and providing service and support. Below you will find more information about each purpose, which also states the legal basis for our processing.

For you as a customer

When you order products from the Website, we ask you to provide relevant personal information and your contact information so that we can manage your order.

We need personal data such as contact details and payment information to be able to administer and deliver your order and provide service. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary for Great Earth to fulfil the agreement with you. If you do not provide the information we request when ordering, you will not be able to complete the order.

Great Earth also saves your order history, i.e., information about which products you have ordered, quantity, date, and price. We save such documentation to be able to provide you with qualified service after the order, as well as to handle any complaints and claims under applicable legislation. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in being able to provide good service and thereby contribute to the safe use of our products, and so that we can make necessary assessments, fulfil our obligations, and protect our rights in connection with complaints.

Great Earth also processes your contact details and your order history for the purpose of conducting market research. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in conducting such research in order to evaluate and improve our products.

Your data may also otherwise be processed for us to be able to fulfil our legal obligations, e.g., according to the Accounting Act.

Your data is processed for as long as it is needed for us to be able to administer the order and provide service to you, as well as to handle any complaints and claims regarding legislation. We have ongoing routines that ensure we do not store unnecessary personal data and we minimise the storage period as much as possible. We normally save your customer data for a maximum of three years from your last customer contact; however, we save data required by the Accounting Act for up to 8 years.

For you who have a user account

When you create a user account on the Website, we ask you to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name and email address. We process this data to create and administer your account. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing and administering your user account.

When you place an order while logged into the account, the purposes and legal bases described above under “For you as a customer” also apply. If you do not provide the information we request when creating an account, you cannot create the account. However, for this reason, you are not prevented from ordering products on the Website.

You can log in to “My Pages” at any time and update most of the personal data you have provided there.

We will delete your account if you have not logged in or placed an order for three years, or if you have not informed us that you wish to keep the user account.

For you who book a course

When you send a booking request, we ask you to provide your name and contact details so that we can manage your request and any course booking. When you pay for your course, we process the payment information so that we can administer the payment. The legal bases for this processing are our legitimate interest in handling your booking request and, upon completion of a course booking, for us to be able to fulfil the agreement with you and to fulfil our legal obligations, e.g., according to the Accounting Act. If you do not provide the information we request for a booking request, you cannot complete the request.

Your data is processed for as long as it is needed for us to administer your booking request and any course booking, but for no longer than three years after your order, unless we have a legal obligation to save it for longer.

For you who contact customer service

When you contact customer service, we process the personal data you provide, where applicable, to administer your customer service case. The legal basis for this processing is our and your legitimate interest in handling your case. Your data may also otherwise be processed for us to be able to fulfil our legal obligations by law, e.g., the Product Safety Act.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in being able to provide you with good service.

We save your data as long as the case is ongoing and delete the data as soon as possible after the case is closed.

Who do we share your personal data with?

Great Earth may share your personal data with other companies within the Great Earth group and with partners, for example, in the provision of IT services, transport solutions, and payment solutions. These recipients only process your personal data on our behalf and according to our instructions. Great Earth takes all appropriate legal, technical, and organisational measures to ensure that your personal data is handled securely and with an adequate level of protection when transferred to or shared with such selected recipients.

Great Earth may also share your personal data with other companies that process your personal data independently, without us controlling how the personal data is processed, e.g., companies that handle the transport of goods and payment solutions. We only disclose your data to such companies to be able to fulfil our commitments to you. When your personal data is shared with such companies that are independent data controllers, your personal data is handled in accordance with what is stated in that company's information about personal data.

We share analytics data via third-party cookies for marketing and web analysis to improve our services.

Great Earth may also share your personal data with authorities if we are required by law to do so or in case of suspected crime.

Where do we process your personal data?

Your personal data will mainly be processed within the EU/EEA, but may also be transferred to a country outside the EU/EEA.

Great Earth only discloses your personal data to a country outside the EU/EEA if there is a legal basis and sufficient guarantees that your personal data is processed in a lawful manner. In such cases, Great Earth takes all appropriate legal, technical, and organisational measures to ensure that your personal data is handled securely and with an adequate level of protection comparable to and at the same level as the protection offered within the EU/EEA.

How long do we save your personal data?

We only save your personal data for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which you provided the data. See more information under each purpose above.

We may also save your personal data for a longer period if it is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation that requires processing according to applicable law, or for us to be able to establish, assert, or defend legal claims.

What are your rights?

You have certain specific statutory rights that you can assert against us. Below is a summary of these rights.

Right of access/register extract. You have the right to know what personal data we process about you. Upon your request, we will provide written information about our processing of your personal data free of charge.

Right to data portability. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. Provided that it is technically feasible, which is determined by Great Earth, you also have the right to request that we transfer this personal data to another data controller. The right to data portability applies to personal data that is processed by automated means and is based on an agreement with you.

Rectification of incorrect data. You have the right to request that we correct incorrect or incomplete information about yourself. If you have a user account, you can also log in to your account and correct any incorrect information.

Erasure of certain data. You have the right to request that we delete your personal data under certain conditions, e.g., if the personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which we collected it, if you object to a balancing of legitimate interests that we have made and there is no support for our legitimate interest, if personal data is processed unlawfully, or if the personal data must be deleted to comply with a legal obligation.

Despite your request for erasure, in some cases we must still save your personal data due to legal requirements such as accounting and tax legislation, or for example, if we need to retain certain data to be able to establish, assert, or defend a legal claim.

Right to restriction of processing of your personal data. You have the right to request a restriction of our processing of your personal data in certain cases. For example, if you have contested that your personal data is correct, you can request a restriction of the processing for a period that allows us to verify whether the personal data is correct.

Right to object to our processing of personal data. You have the right, under certain conditions, to object to our processing of your personal data. You have the right to object to processing that is based on the legal ground of our legitimate interest. However, we may continue to process your data, even if you have objected to the processing, if we have compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your privacy interest.
