SUSTAINABILITY
We don't just sell vitamins & minerals – we believe the world changes when you feel good. Based on this philosophy, we want to boost you while helping our planet flourish. To follow our vision, we have been working with sustainability for many years – we aim to live up to our name.
We have a sustainable business strategy, not just a sustainability strategy.
We are perhaps facing humanity's greatest challenge – saving the climate. It's an issue that affects everyone, everywhere. The climate issue is vast and complex, especially from a global perspective. But just because something is big and difficult doesn't mean we should give up. So, what do we do? We start where we are. In our case, our industry lacks both demanding consumers and certifications for a unified approach to sustainability. That's why we, as the first company in the industry, are taking the lead and undertaking a thorough sustainability effort with the best tools available today. We want to challenge and encourage both our industry and our customers to take a stand, ask questions, be curious, and work together to care for our planet. Let's transform the industry and make the world a better place together. Good Life – Great Earth!

From plastic to paper - a small lid with a big impact
We aim to become Sweden's most sustainable food supplement company. And now we're taking another important step – we're replacing our plastic lids with fibre-based paper lids on all our products.
It started as an award-winning pilot collaboration with Blue Ocean Closures, and now we're scaling up – with 95% less plastic per jar. Smart for the planet. Easy to recycle. The same powerful content as always.
Change takes time
During a transition period, you may therefore receive products with either plastic or paper lids.
The content is always the same. The quality is always Great Earth.

WITH A WORLD-UNIQUE CELLULOSE FIBRE CAP, GREAT EARTH SECURES THE WIN FOR PACKAGING OF THE YEAR AT THE 2025 RECYCLING GALA.
In fierce competition, we won the prestigious Packaging of the Year award at the industry-acclaimed Recycling Gala at Berns in Stockholm. The award recognises our pioneering work in introducing the world's first recyclable cellulose fibre closure for food supplement jars, developed in collaboration with Blue Ocean Closures (BOC).
"This is a fantastic recognition of our long-term sustainability work and our courage to be the first in the world to implement this groundbreaking packaging solution," says Patrik Falk, CEO of Great Earth Scandinavia AB.
"Our new cellulose caps show that sustainability and quality go hand in hand; we not only drastically reduce our environmental impact but also improve the user experience for our customers."
The jury's motivation reads:
"The food supplement company is the first in the world to use a new closure made of recyclable cellulose fibre instead of the coloured polypropylene caps previously used. The closure was developed by Blue Ocean Closures."

Our customers are increasingly requesting vegan products completely free from animal-derived raw materials. Over the past three years, we have dedicated significant effort to reviewing all our products to reduce animal content and increase the proportion of plant-based ingredients.

Our new jars are much more stylish than before, but more importantly, we have optimised the fill level to avoid shipping unnecessary air. In 2021, the fill level was 65% – in 2023 we reached 76%, and now we are at a 77% fill level. At the same time, the jar needs to be large enough to meet other legal requirements, so it's not a simple equation. The next step is to focus even more on our refills. There, we can influence the fill level to a completely different dimension.

All our electricity is 100% renewable, and we purchase it from our local energy company. We also make sure to reuse cardboard boxes from our manufacturers when we ship products to our customers

Closer and sustainable production
We have taken the step of moving the majority of our production to Scandinavia. Moving production closer means shorter transport distances to our main market here in Scandinavia. In our production process, we use carefully selected factories and raw materials and follow strict quality controls to ensure our products meet the highest standards. We are constantly working to optimise our operations from a sustainability perspective, for example, by minimising waste, transport, and using environmentally friendly packaging.
Thousands of jars saved
Through our initiative "Save a pill" we have saved several thousand jars from being discarded. We noticed that our customers appreciate the opportunity to choose jars with cosmetic imperfections or short expiry dates. That's why we launched "Save a pill" on our own channel. It has been incredibly well-received by both our customers and us.
410,000 tests completed
We have developed a needs assessment test to help our customers know which food supplements to take. This is an important part of our sustainability work. It is not good for the individual or the planet for us to consume things that are not really needed.

When the jar is empty - Buy a Refill
As part of our sustainability work, we have started developing refill pouches for several of our food supplements, vitamins, and minerals. Now it's incredibly convenient for those who already have a jar at home to simply refill it when the tablets start to run out. Great, isn't it!
Recycle
One of our best-selling products is C-Vitamin Complex, and we have calculated that, by volume, recycling one jar is equivalent to 59 refill pouches. This means significantly less waste and a reduced environmental impact — a perfect example of the circular economy in practice.
1,470 kg of rPET saved (recycled PET) by consumers choosing refills

More content - Less air.
From 65% to 77% fill level in the jars
Optimising the fill level in our packaging is a central part of our drive towards more sustainable operations. Transporting empty space is unnecessary and has a negative impact on the environment.
A challenging equation
While striving for an optimal fill level, we have also had to consider other factors, such as legal requirements and customer expectations. Due to legal requirements regarding text size on labels, we cannot optimise further at this time. We wanted our jars to be large enough to accommodate the product information while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing design. Finding the balance between these requirements has been a challenge we have worked on continuously.
At the forefront
Through persistent work, we have succeeded in increasing the fill level from 65% in 2021 to 77% in 2024. We have now completed this project.
The best part is that we now meet the EU's new regulatory requirements that will come into force in 2030. We are extremely pleased that we have focused on this issue for several years, so when this regulatory requirement was announced, we were already compliant. This means we don't need to make a transition that many others in the industry now face. We are proud of this success, and although we have now reached our goal with this optimisation work, we continue to monitor the field for any future innovations that can help us become even more sustainable.

1,470 kg
Through our work with refills, we have managed to save 1,470 kg of rPET in 2024. We know our jars are too valuable to be used only once. So a convenient refill solution is the answer!
1 place
If we succeed in offering all our products as refills, we can ensure that almost all our packages are sent to one place: straight to your letterbox with your regular post. Unless, of course, you'd prefer to collect from a pickup point! The small refill pouches mean even smaller packages that are easier to ship out to you, our customers.
