More energy in everyday life
Q10 is a vitamin-like substance that occurs naturally in the body, including in the cells of the immune system. It is needed for energy production in all the cells of the body, and is especially important for the heart and brain, which both require very large amounts of energy to function at their best. As we get older, the production of Q10 decreases, which means we may need to add a little extra so both body and mind can feel their best. Our Q10 also contains vitamin C and vitamin B12, which contribute to reducing tiredness and fatigue, and selenium, which protects your cells from oxidative stress.

Frequently Asked Questions about Q10
Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance found naturally in our bodies, but our ability to produce it declines with age. Q10 plays a vital role in energy production within the mitochondria of the body's cells.
Q10 plays a central role in the body's energy production at a cellular level and contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, as well as helping to reduce tiredness and fatigue. Q10 also supports cardiovascular health through its antioxidant properties.
A commonly recommended daily dose of Q10 for adults is between 100 and 200 mg, but this can vary depending on an individual's age, health, and reason for taking it. Many supplements are designed for one capsule per day, often around 60-200 mg, and should be taken with a meal containing fat for optimal absorption. If you are taking other medications, it is important to consult with a doctor before you start taking Q10. Our capsule contains 120 mg of Q10, a dose that is in line with the recommended daily amount.
Since Q10 contributes to energy production, we recommend taking the capsules in the morning to avoid any impact on your sleep. If you are taking a higher dose, such as 300 mg, you can split it into two capsules in the morning and one at lunchtime. For best absorption, take the capsules with a meal that contains fat, as Q10 is fat-soluble.
Great Earth uses ubiquinone, the same form used in major clinical studies. Your body naturally converts ubiquinone into its active form, ubiquinol, as needed. For optimal uptake, we combine Q10 with MCT oil powder from coconut and black pepper extract, which enhances absorption. The product also contains vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin B12 to complement the effects of Q10. Always take the capsules with a meal containing fat for the best results.
Q10 does not affect normal blood pressure, but research suggests it may help to lower high blood pressure. If you are taking blood pressure medication, it is important to discuss taking Q10 with your doctor to ensure it is a safe combination.
As a precaution, we do not recommend Q10 for pregnant or breastfeeding women. This is because there is limited research on the effects of Q10 on foetuses and infants. If you are planning to become pregnant or discover that you are pregnant, you should stop taking Q10. Always consult your doctor about combining supplements with medications.
Your Q10 product may have a distinct odour, which comes from the selenium in the form of L-selenomethionine. As selenomethionine contains sulphur, this is what causes the smell. The odour may become stronger during warmer periods and is completely normal – it does not indicate that the product is faulty. For best quality, store your capsules in a cool, dark, and dry place.
Q10 needs to be in (dark) capsules to protect the raw material from both light and oxygen (as Q10 is sensitive to both). The capsule also needs to contain fat to ensure it is absorbed in the most effective way.
